Football Helmets

Over the years, football helmets have changed in many ways. Now, their are a lot more concerns of concussions and the lasting effects of head injuries. In the "old days" athletes wore leather helmets when they played football. These were not safe at all compared to the hard plastic helmets that were used later on. The hard plastic helmets have facemasks that also protect your head. Now helmets are specially made by different material and have specialized holes and gaps in the helmets to prevent or atleast try to prevent head injuries and concussions.

Football helmets have came a long way since the beginning of football. Actually the first games of football they did not use helmets. There are two new helmets present that help prevent concusions but not 100%. There is a significant difference though from the old helmets to the newer helmets. The athletes feel more comfertable with the newer helmets because there is a less chance to get a concussionb
